Panguni Uthiram (Tamil:) (also known as Meena Uttara-phalguni in Sanskrit) is a day of importance to Tamil Hindus. It falls on the day the moon transits in the asterism or nakshatram of Uttara-phalguni or Uthiram in the twelfth month of the Tamil solar calendar i.e. Panguni (March–April). It is the full moon of the month of Panguni.
பங்குனி உத்தரம் என்பது சைவக் கடவுளாகிய முருகனுக்குரிய சிறப்பு விரத தினமாகக் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது. இது பங்குனி மாதத்தில் வரும் உத்தர நட்சத்திர தினமாகும். தமிழ் மாதங்களில் 12ம் மாதம் பங்குனி. நட்சத்திரங்களில் 12ம் நட்சத்திரம் உத்தரம். எனவே 12 கை வேலவனுக்குச் சிறப்பான தினமாகக் கொண்டாடப்படுகிறது. அநேகமான முருகன் கோயில்களில் இத்தினத்தில் வருடாந்த திருவிழாக்கள் (மஹோற்சவம்) நடைபெறும்.
