As Long As You're Near
The first time we met, I could see,
That you and I, were meant to be.
Your eyes were so gentle, your smile so true,
When you first held my hand, I just knew.
Now the time has gone by, through laughter and tears,
These days I shall cherish, for years upon years.
Those memories we have, shall never fade,
For those are the steps, that we have made.
That was the past, the future is near,
I anxiously wait, for what will appear.
New homes, more laughter, and children so dear,
Everything will be wonderful, as long as you're near......
I've heard people say that love transcends time
That it will be sweeter as it ages, just like wine
But sometimes when you least expect it love fades,
So bittersweet that nothing but memory remains.
Love fades...
Sometimes you remember how it feels to sit by the phone
Waiting for that nonexistent call all alone
Or the cold breeze brushing your hair
As you sit at the bottom of the lonely stair
Telling yourself that someday he would realize
The love you feel for him, that it never dies.
You search for the reasons to ease your mind
But the tears, and the pain, just make you numb inside.
And then, love fades...
Time never used to matter if you love someone truly
With all the teardrops, feelings rust suddenly...
Yet you stare at his picture, longingly at his face
Thinking, in your heart, no one could ever take his place.
Still, he didn't see, and he turned away...
So until when shall one wait?
Love fades...it's too late.
God is the greatest artist
To whom no one can compare,
Streaking sunsets very beautiful,
Painting rainbows in the air.
Brushing green the hillside scene,
Blotting blue the sky above,
Splashing flowers 'cross the ground beneath,
Shading white clouds with His glove.
Of the wonders God has made
There is none that is so fair
As the smile He paints upon your face
When you realize He's there.......
